Silver Springs State Park in Florida is one of the largest artesian springs ever discovered and the only place in America you can see manatees and wild monkeys on the same trip.

Abundant Florida wild life can all be seen here, including possible sightings of manatees, magnificent marsh birds, alligators and wild rhesus macaque Monkeys.

The monkeys were brought to Silver Springs State Park by Colonel Tooey in the 1930s. Silver Springs State Park is located at 5656 E Silver Springs Blvd.

The Monkeys were calm and accommodating. There’s plenty to do at Silver Springs State Park. The macaques at Silver River aren’t native to Florida, but they’ve been here for decades.

This Silver Springs River is also an EXCELLENT place for birding.
