Wood Badge is a training course for Scouters which finally results in their receiving a certificate, a small neckerchief, a leather slide, and two small wooden beads on a leather thong. Chapter 1: The experiential course, which takes place over one six-day week or two three-day weekends and includes leadership classes, games, activities and plenty of meaningful conversations.. Chapter 2: The Wood Badge ticket, a series of five projects (completed after Chapter 1) that benefit a Scouter’s home unit and local community. When the goals are completed and acknowledged by the ticket counselor the participant has earned their Wood Badge. It has been a while since I have completed Wood Badge, but I believe there are 5 “tickets” a Wood Badge candidate must complete to qualify for the WB beads.
